Now until New Years: Bucatini all’amatriciana sales for Central Italy Earthquake Relief

With artisanal bucatini from Pastaficio Mascarelli in Abruzzo donated by Marcelli Formaggi (who import many of the Abruzzese cheeses and ingredients we use at Le Virtù) and guanciale from Salumificio Cicala (Chef Cicala’s independent salumi company), and Ari and Elise Miller’s local treasure 1732 Meats, we’ve already begun a program that is spreading across the city’s restaurant community. Inspired by a similar movement in Italy, we’ll donate $3 from every plate of Amatrice’s namesake dish, bucatini all’amatriciana. We’ll be running a similar program at Brigantessa for sales of our pizza all’amatriciana. We intend to run these menu additions through the holidays. Our experiences with L’Aquila and its surroundings tell us that the effort to rebuild will take a very long time.
